Hi,

I received a positive in Computing Professional – specialising in Network Security/ Firewall/ Internet Security * (2231-79) but unsure what to do next as 261399 is not in SOL or SMP especially WA

I am submitting ACS online application but unsuccessful for the second time.

On querying first time with ACS, no record was found in their Database. Can any one guide what could be wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Guess ACS is the one you need to contact then.

Or could it be that you actually never submitted your apps? I mean they never were sent to ACS database in the first place.

May be hire an agent who can do it for you. Of course, it's gonna cost you but nonetheless would be worth every penny provided the agent is MARA registered and has some experience in handling ACS cases. Good luck

Default General ACS queries

Hello
Hope you are fine

i have some question related to applying to Australian Computer Society as Software engineer.
i have a bachelor in Information technology and i am doing now a Master in In formation technology, i have 2 years full time working experience and about 3 years working as a part time developer (during my study in the college )

i have these question:
- am i eligible to apply under group (A)?
- which form should i fill ( do i have to fill the form with this title PASA 2.0 (Recognition of Prior Learning) without filling section 2 and 4)?
- do i have to provide the ACS with the contracts i did with the companies i worked with ( i have contracts but these contracts not registered in the government it is just between me and the company owner )?
- i have IEEE publication but it is not related to Software engineering do you think that i can attached it my application?
- is there any from to use in writing the statement from employer or it is just like a recommendation letter with details about my work?
- my current employer refused to provide me with a statement because my contract is till June 2011, how can i deal with this case.
- how can i certify the statement which i get from my employer
- i did some contracts with some companies to build their web application, do you think it is good thing to attach these contract in my application?

i am very sorry for this long message
and i appreciate any help
thank you

The addendum document states that you are eligible for Group A and a 2 year work requirement if the degree of study has 65% of its subjects in the same computer discipline. You know your degree subjects the best and should be able to arrive at this decision better. Else, you have to satisfy the 4 year work requirement, and where you worked part time, the time will be pro-rated against full-time.

- which form should i fill ( do i have to fill the form with this title PASA 2.0 (Recognition of Prior Learning) without filling section 2 and 4)?
You have a degree that seems to have a major or minor in computer applications, so there is absolutely no need to do an RPL. If you're applying for a standard evaluation of your degrees and your work experience, then the standard PASA application of 400AUD is the one.

- do i have to provide the ACS with the contracts i did with the companies i worked with ( i have contracts but these contracts not registered in the government it is just between me and the company owner )?
Any standard document stating an agreement between you and the company should suffice. It would be benefecial if the document had the company letterhead.

- i have IEEE publication but it is not related to Software engineering do you think that i can attached it my application?
Any post secondary documentation relevant to your occupation is what the ACS looks for. Although your publication is irrelevant, you can add it in your resume or just the certificate.

- is there any from to use in writing the statement from employer or it is just like a recommendation letter with details about my work?
No forms as such. Just a statement from your employer that specifies what tasks you do at the company, your period of employment. All this on a letterhead is good enough. Your job description should ideally match the occupation you want to be assessed against.

- my current employer refused to provide me with a statement because my contract is till June 2011, how can i deal with this case.
TRy to get a statement, else a statutory declaration.

- how can i certify the statement which i get from my employer
Doctor, notary lawyer, registered migration agents.

- i did some contracts with some companies to build their web application, do you think it is good thing to attach these contract in my application?
Up to you if you feel it to be relevant.

i am very sorry for this long message
No need to apologize, next time just read the PASA application guide more thoroughly.

Default General ACS queries

There are currently a few general ACS queries, I think it will be easier to have them all in one place.

How can you have distinct queries in one place? Does that make any sense?

As for the ACS result, it might not be that bad. Check on the state sponsorship SOL. Might fit in there.

Actually, having all the queries on one thread will reduce the number of obvious questions that are frequently raised.

The information might be too distributed across many posts (as though the ACS website wasn't a central enough place for information)
