Frustration with Agent any Advice?
#1
Gave my agent everything for TRA application 3 weeks ago and they still have not looked at it! So frustrated? It took me 2 months to get everything together and expected the service to be a bit faster. Have called and been told I am on the list! Dont want to complain too much. Applying for 136 on modl list so should be straightforward. Any advice?

Have you asked them what the delay is? If you're really not happy maybe you could use a different one.
If you think its a straightforward application, why did you choose to use an agent at all?

Hi All, using an agent as thought would be quicker and hopeful to move as soon as as my daughter will be 14 this year. The agent said they do the applications on a first come first serve basis and there is a bit of a backlog as they all came in at once! So there must be other people in the same position as me? I filled in everything for them they just have to do a stat declaration and check it all for us. Using OE in Edinburgh. Have already given them the Visa application filled out too so hopeful if TRA successful soon the visa part will go in as soon as it comes back.

Hi there, have you paid any money to them, if inot, then i think it may be worth your while to try a different agent !! 3 weeks is an awful long time to wait, especially as the whole visa process is quite lengthy.
We too are using an agency, we were given a specific consultant, and when we sent her our TRA docs she checked them over, and submitted them the next day. I think this is a normal standard of practise, not just our agent .
But there again, you may be near the top of their pile now ??
Good luck, let us know how you get on.

I do a bit of contract work for OE so I know the managers there.
I will check it out for you and let you know what the story is.

Thanks Tony, but yesterday I sent an email to the Managing Director who called and apologised right away so hopeful things will progress on Monday!

There are legitimate complaints about some agents, many of whom are small business with limited manpower (80% of registered agents are 1-2 man businesses).
In any dispute, I always check to see if there are two sides to the story. It is surprising what often comes to light.
In our business we prefer to work through migration agents as some clients seem to take forever to respond to requests, not surprising if they are busy in a business. Agents do the leg work and send us a file that is ready for working on.
If someone posted in a forum about delays in our service to them, I would be thinking about posting the delays in time and numbers of requests we made of them too! Of course I would offer the client the chance to withdraw or edit their post first.
Can anyone speculate why forum members (not just BE) take everything at face value and offer advice without knowing the full story first. I guess that's the nature of the internet.
WelshTony, before you go chasing this up, I would firstly be asking DestinationSydney if she was squeaky clean

If a client chooses (for whatever reason, personal or otherwise) to respond late then that's their choice as a customer, I would have thought most people understand that slow responses might have a knock-on effect further down the chain .....
