Default NZ immigration stats website

Hi there NZ migrants! I found an interesting statistics site at http://www.stats.govt.nz/domino/exte...4?OpenDocument - includes graphs and data ad the following extract commentary:

'Permanent and long-term (PLT) ...arrivals reached a new high of 91,200 in the year ended May 2002, up 23,000 or 34 percent on the May 2001 year. In contrast, there were 19,400 or 24 percent fewer PLT departures in 2002. The overall result was a net migration gain of 31,200, compared with a net outflow of 11,100 in the previous year. The net gain for the May 2002 year, which was the highest recorded net inflow for any year, was only 300 less than the combined net outflows for the previous three years.

There were net inflows from China (13,500), India (5,500), the United Kingdom (4,500), South Africa (3,200), Fiji (2,400) and Japan (2,300), in the year ended May 2002. Conversely, there was a net outflow to Australia of 13,600, less than half the net outflow of 31,800 in the May 2001 year.'

All the best
