Fingerprinting from USA.....getting the finger printing forms
Hi everyone,
I from India, trying to immigrate to Australia under STNI. I have lived in USA for 5yrs with my family. Now I need the FBI clearance for our stay.
How can I get hold of the fingerprinting forms(FD 258) sitting in INDIA? One way is to send a written request to FBI. But heard that they would take forever to respond.
Can anybody please tell me what are the other sources for getting hold of the forms? Are there any websites where they sell the forms (FD 258).
OR Do they fingerprint at the US consulate in INDIA????
I had some one in the US for the forms....they tried at the police station, DMV and the INS with no success. They would'nt give the forms out at the police station. At the DMV it is only for the commercial drivers and at INS it is done digitally.
Please help me and let me know how can i get the fingerprinting forms......

You can download the forms at the FBI site , print it out, get the finger prints made on it by the local Indian police station under whose jurisdiction u live , send it with I think the first page of your passport ( or whatever the form asks for) to the US FBI address on the web site. They usually take 6 weeks to return it, I got mine in 4 weeks

I'd adivce Manjus to check with his CO before using a downloaded form. DIMIA
might not accept downloaded form even though FBI has no problems with it.
