Finally I have got the visa after a long wait, I am so happy now, now I have to go out of Australia to stamp the visa, thank you god.

It was 17 months not 15, and it was after almost 8 months of case officer, so compared to other applicants the wait was long in my opinion

Very encouraging for me to see a fellow accountant approved. I would greatly appreciate it if you could keep me updated as to how your job hunting goes prior to making the move.

I am an ACMA who is currently FC of an £3.5M turnover engineering/manufacturing group with approximately 15 years in Finance. Unfortunately I never got around to sitting my exams until a few years ago for a number of reasons so only finished them this year with my membership approved in September. I am also currently studying for an MBA and the ICSA qualification.

It would be interesting for me to see how the job market is shaping up over the next couple of years as I have been informed that I cannot apply until I have one year post qualified experience. That means that I cannot apply until September next year.

The plan is to sit the IELTS in April and join the CPA under the mutual recognition agreement they have with CIMA in July which means that I have an Australian accountancy qualification and the skills assessment is free.

It has been a plan of ours for a couple of years now and we are both getting impatient to get started and hopefully be out there within two years. We will see.

Me too CIMA. CPA and CIMA recognition will help you a lot. There is a separate tread running for Accountants in the forum for different occupations. Check on that.
Further why did you say you need to have IELTS for CPA?

Malikkhi, I had all my documents met since 14/8/2009, so they are probably waiting for your external checks like they did with mine, so don't lose hope
