We submitted our EOI in May last year, got taken from the pool when it was a whopping 155 in June, received our Invitation to apply in September, & then have last week (15/3) been accepted & granted residency.
We could have sped it up, but had to save up for medicals & the £520 fee for processing the application once we'd sent everything off.
So all in all its taken from end of may to mid march, maybe we could have saved 2 months by having the cash ready.
Good luck & a few words of advice, patience, get all your documents & even if you aren't sure you need something get it, pay massive attention to detail.
Good luck

Hi Paul,
Did you have a job offer when you were invited to apply?
Is there any conditions attach to the residency permit or visa?

Re: expression of interest
Hi Dan, yes we had a job offer (one of us anyway), when we completed the EOI, this was necessary for us to get past the 100 points to get into the pool.
From entering the EOI to getting the letter inviting us to apply took 3 months, during which time they check up on the job offer in NZ pretty thoroughly, before checking it matches your skills & quals etc, then from returning all our docs & more besides, it took another 2 months to get it granted. Some of the delays were down to us having to save the money for meds & the application (£800 in total).
The NZIS were great in the end, but they are VERY thorough, so be prepared.
feel free to ask any questions on the whole process, because NZIS are pretty economical with info & it can be really stressful & worrying.
Good luck
