For the experienced ones
Hi all, I new in this forum.
I now going to submit my application to DIMIA, I finished the ACS assessment in RPL (if any one need help about how to fill RPL send me an e-mail).
Now the complicated staff, the ACS approved my profession, 6 years in IT (4 years as a system administrator + 2 years as a software developer), ACS gave me also the MODL list as c++ programmer, but they didn't gave the 10 points for work experience because they said that the work that I done as the system administrator is not relevant for 4 years experience but they acknowledge the profession not as a system admin but as a computer technician which get 40 points in the ASCO code list.
So what I have until now:
Age: 25 points.
Profession: 60 + 5 points.
English: 20 points.
Total: 110.
My immigration agent said that DIMIA will except the ACS and approve another 5 points for experience as system administrator but he don't 100% sure of that.
He offered to Asses my wife for the missing 5 points.
What do you say?

Dear Eckhous,
It sounds to me as though your agent has not explained everything to you
properly, but I really couldn't comment without seeing your ACS assessment
letter. If you could email or fax that to me on +61-2-97972170 I will be
happy to tell you what I think. In particular, I cannot see how you claim
that you have been given a MODL assessment and not be able to claim MODL
points.
Cheers

Hi Peter,
What is written in the paper from ACS is:
10/96 - 06/00 Computing Support Technician partly relevant.
07/00 - 09/02 Software engineer ASCO 2231-17.
Does DIMIA will give me 5 points for the first job; it is 40 points job so it gets 5 points for experience.
If not I will probably appeal to ACS for the experience points.
Thanks

Re: For the experienced ones
ACS does not assess you for the Department of Immigration work
experience requirements. Adelaide will do that.
If your ACS assessment has a date of effect on it, Adelaide will only
count work experience after that date. If that's the case, I suggest
you read the recent post by George Lombard on ACS deeming date policy
and perhaps contact him directly.
