Default eVisitor Visa expiring - Help!

Heh, My elderly mother's evisitor visa is expiring in a few days. She is unable to leave Australia due to flight cancellations.

I have scoured the Immi website for help but it just takes me round in circles "You need to apply for another visa if your is expiring.' Great, be so kind as to tell me which one and i'll get right on it. "You need to apply for another visa if yours is expiring." And round and round we go.

I know, I'll phone them. Thats a great idea .

"Dept of Immigration, how can we help?'
'Hello...expiring....new visa....which one?'
"I'm sorry sir, we here at the Dept of Immigration can't advise you on which visa you need."

That's right, The Government department set up to deal with immigration cannot give advice on which Visa we need. They suggested reading the website. And round and round we go. They also suggested speaking with a migration company

So, good people of British Expats, can someone please answer the following question

The Visa you need to apply for when your EVisitor visa is expiring is................................................ ......??

Many thanks,

Stay safe

We are in the same position. Our e-visa is due to run out in a couple of weeks. We applied for the Subclass 600, paid for it and got a bridging visa almost immediately. A couple of days later we got a note saying that we had to go for a health checkup. We went through the procedure of setting up an appointment and received a note saying that due to the corona virus, no new appointments were being made. I added all these notes to our application in our immi account but haven't heard anything back. Not sure what's going to happen now.

Good luck with your mother's application - Let us know how it works out.

Stay safe!

There are flights operating from Australia. If your parent is from the U.K., then the information is here. https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-ad...turn-to-the-uk
