Default Errrrmmm visa type changes?

When I first decided to "make the move" I was looking at the visa's 134 and 137 (Skill matching and STNI) because I needed the extra points from sponsorship from the Victoria state

But all I can get info on is this: Skilled – Sponsored (Migrant) visa (subclass 176)

Is it the same thing or do the other two types still exist?

I was looking at the 134 because I only needed 6 months work exp but it seems like I need 12 months for the 176 visa (STNI also needed 12 months) so can I no longer apply with only 6 months work exp?

I'm confused

134 and 137 were closed to new applicants on 1 September 2007. 176 replaces both (and also replaces the 138).

Thanks Jaj

I'm going to have to wait a little longer before applying then due to needing 12 months work exp rather than just the 6 months needed for the 134

The "6 month rule" on 134 was a little known concession but some people were able to benefit from it. No longer, however, for new applicants.

However you may still wish to sort out your skill assessment (validity depends on occupation) and state nomination (check validity of this as in some cases it may only be valid for 6 months).
