Default EOI Invitation

Hi,

We have got EOI invitation on 1st of October 2012, now my wife is primary applicant and we are living with my parents and one little sister, my parents and sister is totally dependent on me, I want to know can we add them in our immigration application and will the get visa to travel with us or what is the other way around to bring them with us.

Regards
Samper

Did you suddenly remember that you had dependent relatives or, and call me cynical, did you deliberately omit them from your EoI because you thought it might affect your chance of invitation?

I suppose it'll depend on the definition of 'dependent'. You may say dependent, but DIAC may disagree. For example, in the UK, elderly people receive state pensions, and so wouldn't be considered to be dependent.

no I don't deliberately do this at that time because my wife is primary applicant and my parents are not dependent on her any way if there is not any way then we have an option, my brother got PR recently and I think he can sponsor them as parents and sister, your suggestions are required for this.

If he's only recently obtained PR, then he would have to wait for a reasonable period of time (usually considered to be about two years) before being able to sponsor them. Parents visas are very time consuming & expensive, and he wouldn't be able to sponsor your sister on the same visa as your parents.

Presumably your parents are being supported by you and your wife, so I don't think you'd need to worry about that distinction. I think you should consider having a consultation with a MARA registered agent.

Regular tourist visas? They're not usually too troublesome to get. DIAC are introducing longer tourist visas for parents of PR/citizens.

Check with an agent about the possibility of adding them to your application though. I haven't seen anything definitive about it yet.

You haven't even got a visa yet and you're already asking about a Tourist Visa for your family? There is a possibility your wife will not be granted her visa so I wouldn't jump too far ahead.

Moneypenny is absolutely right though. You and your wife haven't even got your own visas yet. I'd be concentrating on that if I were you. Your query won't help other posters particularly. Did you consult an agent about your situation?

I know full well what the forum is for thanks. My point is that as you don't yet have your visa, you have a long way to go on your own application and filling your minds with something that is so far in the future (if at all) is simply wasting your energy. By all means stick it on your list of things to do but first things first. Unless of course you're planning on not moving if the parents aren't going to be allowed to visit (which is unlikely).
