Default EOI - 60 points for 2613 Developer Programmer

Hi guys, would really like your views on something.

I completed an Expression of Interest on 27th February with 60 points. I took the English test (EILTS) and got a score of Reading 9, Writing 7.5, Listening 8.5, Speaking 9. Because of the 7.5 in Writing, I only got 10 points when I was aiming for 20.

I understand for my occupation (261312 Developer Programmer) there is a lot of demand. I'm reading confusing stories about cut-off points and if I only have 60 points for this occupation I could be waiting several months for an invite to apply for Visa.

Does this sound true to anyone?

My skills assessment expires in May so I need to make some decisions about my next step. Is it likely that an invite will happen after May?

Cheers guys, my head is spinning a little on this one.

The occupation group 2613 is one of the groups over subscribed and being limited to rationed invitations. This has pushed the invitation score up. In the round 24th Feb, the last invitation was at a score of 70 points lodged 14/2/14. In the previous round, the lowest score was 65 points. I would think it is unlikely you will get an invite before the skills assessment expires but you never know

OK Thanks.

I think I'm going to book another IELTS test for 5th April which means I'll get the results back on the 18th April with a minimum of 8's in all hopefully.

I'm hoping that will get me 2 bites of the apple with 2 rounds of invitations at 70 points.

Gutted really as I got R9. W7.5 L8.5 S9. Strong scores apart from the Writing
