ENS after starting 3-years position ?
Hi all,
can an application for PR under the Employer Nominated Scheme (ENS) be
made AFTER the required 3-years contract has commenced?
In other words, can I start a position on a temporary residence visa
(or the like) and after one or two years get my employer to sponsor me
via ENS?
Hope this question hasn't been asked a million times before.
Thanks for your answers!
Cheers, Peter.

However lots of people end up in a mess on the temporary visa, for a variety of reasons - one of the most common problems is the employer won't sponsor for permanent residence. Not can't - won't.
It's usually much better to get the permanent visa before you go to Australia. ENS and RSMS can be obtained directly from offshore - there is no obligation to get the temporary visa first (although ENS is easier for some of those who spend 2 years in Australia on a temporary visa).

Jeremy,
thanks for your reply. I'll have a chat with my employer.
You mention that ENS is easier for some people having resided in
Australia for 2 years. What group of people are you referring to?
Cheers, Peter.
