Book your flights when you have your visa. It takes a week or so to even get the thing put in your passport which has to be sent off.

Alternatively ensure that your flights are fully flexible and date changes can be made without penalty. A lot of cheap fares will not allow this or charge a penalty per person which negates any saving on a discounted fare calculation.

Just wait imo at least until you have the visa grant letter.

Sorry to discount centurion. But you dont need to send your passport anywhere when on a 457 visa - you have the visa put in when you are in Oz at the immi office, (i am on my second 457).
Once it is finalised it will usualy be any day, assuming it is granted. My was finalised on the tuesday and granted wednesday

My medical results & X ray was delivered on last 15 september and my application was lodged on last 24 september but the application status show as:

Could someone tell me if everything is OK? I think the page should show CHEST X RAY RECEIVED.
After heath examination finalized, how long should I wait to get my visa?

Hi once all info had been received ours took 2 weeks, we fly out on the 26th oct hooray Good luck

totally depends mine was the next day but others was up to 14 days

well folks got the visa on 29th sept. flights booked for 31st october giving me a week to unwind before i start work... total processing time from application 6 weeks i had medical the day after i applied and they processed and recieved the results in oz around 2 weeks after .

I wouldn't book your flights until you have your visa. Everyone's wait time is different because everyone's case is different. When we applied last year some people were two weeks after meds finalised, some not. We waited 11 weeks after our meds were finalised and although it was very tempting to book our flights and me to hand in my notice, it was a good thing we didn't!
