It does state somewhere in the letter you received about the criteria for contacting them, I think they'll reply to a request for acknowledgement of receipt of paperwork, but they wont tell you how far down the precedure you are, it also states that enquiring can slow down your application............you should in all cases direct the email to your case manager and quote your case number in all correspondance
