Do I get my PR??? cry or laugh? oh no
Oh no I hope it's for real and there is no mistake with this
information I got from my 'lazy' agent. I just got a call from my
agent and she told me that she did some follow up with the immigration
office and found out that I've been granted my PR since June!!! How
could it be?? How come there is no contact from the immigration
department at all??? So I'd been waiting and paying my private health
insurance for extra 5 months!!! I don't know whether I should laugh or
cry... being happy or what??? After all these waiting time... worry...
panic... sick of waiting... jealous of others who got PR and wish it's
my turn, then the thunder hit me BANG! You got your PR since June,
silly girl!
I actually tried to find out for progress info. from the immigration
in July to see whether they got all my document. "NOP, we can't give
you any detail". I rang them in September to inform them of change in
the detail of my family member and also asked about the progress.
"NOP, we can't tell you anything sorry!".
mmmm tomorrow I'm going to the immmigration department in Melbourne
CBD for the first thing in the morning to get my visa stamp on my
passport. I don't know if I have to make any appointment but it's too
late to ring them now anyway. They are slack and close by 1:30 pm!!
Hope I don't get any more surprise. All I want now is just the visa
stamp on my passport. Oh.. so I would have to wait extra 5 months to
get my citizenship for the next 2 yrs???

Be happy! Life's too short to be bitter about useless bureaucrats.
Congratulations on your PR approval and good luck in the Land of Plenty, the Lucky Country, the one that's near to GodZone.

There is a discretion that allows time as a temporary resident to be
treated as a permanent resident in cases of administrative error.
But if you're getting your visa stamped onshore, are you sure you've
not been a permanent resident since grant anyhow, and just haven't
known it? Your visa is evidence of PR, not your PR itself. If you
have in fact been a permanent resident since June, then you won't have
to wait the extra 5 months.

This is not intended to be legal advice in any jurisdiction
treated as a permanent resident in cases of administrative error.
