Is this degree/courses are considered as Major in Computer Sciences or ICT?
Hi,
One of my friend has completed his degree named 'BS in Electronic Engineering'. His degree had many IT related courses in it. So, he made his career as Software Developer and has 4 years of development experience. Now, he wants to apply for ACS and ACS requires that if you have 4 years expeience then your degree must have courses major in computer sciences. He has also done Microsoft development certifications.
His degree/transcript is attached here. Can some one please look into these subjects and let me know if his degree will be considered as Major in Computer Sciences as there are many Computer Sciences subjects in his degree. Will he be approved with 4 years of expereince or he must have 6 years of exp.
I know no one can gurantee but I thought this forum has many IT degree holders and some one may have experience or may shed some light. Its ACS that will make final decision but he wants to have some feedback before applying for ACS.
Thanks and Regards,

Dear MSadiq,
His degree is 'BS in Electronic Engineering' so it cant be considered as Majors in Computer Science Degree..... anyways he can apply for ACS as he can qualify for Six years exp in computer science
Regarding Microsoft Certifications are plus point/ advantage only not considered as major degree in ACS
Thanks

well Will ACS be checking only the name of degree? ACS current guidelines say:
2.2.3. As a guide, a major in a Bachelor degree must have a minimum of two equivalent full-time
semesters of ICT content. Such ICT content must progress through all years of the program with at least one third of it being at a demonstrably advanced level (final year level).

Who knows if MODL and CSL will have IT professions in them 2 years from now on. I think he should try his luck and apply for ACS and if he would be rejected, then he must wait for 2 years.
