defacto Berlin embassy
Hi,
We are busy collecting stuff for our partner migration application for
Australia through Berlin (I am Dutch, my partner is
Maltese/Australian).
I have most evidence ready as we already applied twice before from
Melbourne. I only have to do medicals and get new police clearance
doc's and a new birth ceriticate.
I already read that when you call Berlin to make an appointment you
can go in the week after, so you don't have to wait weeks/months. The
only thing I am still worried about is the registration with the
council. Here in Australia I understand only Australian citizens
register as they have to vote and you can only vote when you are
registered. I can't believe I won't be able to get an interview in
Berlin when I don't have this form. I am a bit reluctant to call them.
Does anyone know anything about this ?
I also wonder if my partner has to do his sponsorship statement, as we
already live together in Australia for 3 years !
Probably I'll have to call Berlin after all. Because we have one
refused application and one appeal behind us, it is not really a
standard case and they might say that the fast processing is not for
us...
Hope to hear from you !
Claire

Sounds to me like you should be seeking the advice of an agent for this one?
You can only get so far with answers from this board, your case sounds quite complicated, especially as you have applied twice before and also had one appeal refused?
Good luck!

Re: defacto Berlin embassy
Look up Simone82 posts. She is Dutch and applied at the Berlin embassy and made an excellent list. Your partner must make the same statements as anyone else.
I think you need an agent if you already have had an application rejected.

A tip, provide more than they expect and do not try and get away without a form or part of the application. You do not want to have to go to Berlin only to have to return with more info.
You do not need those voting registration forms for Australia.
