Unhappy Current processing times

My family and I are applying for permanent 136 skilled independent visas and put our application in in September via our migration agent. They told us that if we are successful we will need to be back in Australia by August 22nd as this was the date that we had our medicals done in Australia. Does anyone out there know if this is correct as I am reading about people needing further medicals and police checks when the visa is approved. Is this because it has taken over a year for the application to be processed and people are ready to move over to Australia?

Also does anyone know if diabetes will affect your chances of going to Australia? My husband is tablet controlled and we have had to provide a specialist report for HSA for his medical to be released to DIMA.

Many thanks
Janet R

Why did you do your medicals in advance? Most 136 applicants do not do this!

Have you discussed the medical issues with your agent?
