Default contributory parent visa - processing times

hi there
does anyone have any idea how long it takes from start to finish to recieve a contributory parent visa? My inlaws applied in July 07 and have heard nothing yet?
any ideas would help as to how long they may have to wait
cheers

My Mum and Dad applied jan 07. Acknowledged feb 07. Case officer around November time. Police checks and medicals done at same time. AOS fixe up in December. They were just waiting to be asked for teir 2nd payment when the VISAs were "halted".

CPV used to be about 12-15 months duration. However seeing as demand far outweights supply nowadays the likelihood is that the wait will increase. Each year (july 1 -june 30) they have approx 3500 CPV visas to hand out. by the beginning of dec 07 they had basically gone! See how much demand there is!!!

The trick is to be patient, hard to say when I am here and they`re not I know but there is really no other way to play the VISA game. Use the waiting time to do lots of research on everything you wanna know!!!

Its a long wait but worth it. My parents would have had a VISA in their hand by now!!!!
