I was just wondering if there was any way of confirming that our family meds checks have been received in Aus? Everything was sent by the doctors surgery and they were really rather blasé in their attitude about where things should be sent. I'm not sure if it was just that they do the process every day of the week or whether they didn't really care once they had got the money in their pocket.
Everything else has been nice and straightforward as we have done all the mailing and applications ourselves but this one piece was out of our control and I'm a little uneasy about it

If you had your med docs sent via Royal Mail the surgery should give you the tracking number which you can use to track the docs out of the U.K. then you can contact Ausmail via the internet and they will be able to confirm whether or not your docs have arrived at the LCU.

I'm in the same boat at the moment, application all done myself and meds sent 10th April by doctor who wouldn't courier, only Royal Mail Internationally signed for he said!!
CO said "as yet your medicals have not been
entered into the system. Once this has been done (which sometimes can take
a bit of time as it first goes to Sydney for evaluation) I will be in
touch."
Sorry I don't have an answer to your question, I wish I did, but hopefully not too long a wait now!!

Kaz, how do you do this, my tracking number says the meds are in Australia but how do I track them in Oz?

The docs should have been couriered (we were charged accordingly) but we were never asked for any details about our application (reference numbers, area etc) and when we offered them we were told "Oh we don't need those, we've never used them before".
We are just worried that the docs could have gone just about anywhere or is it likely that our doctors know exactly what they are doing and we have nothing to worry about?

They'll know where to send them! I would check the courier bit, we were told that at first but when I questioned I was told Royal Mail!

yep think we were charged about 20-25 and doc used RM, lets face it nothing about the visa process is cheap. if yours were sent int signed for then go to www.auspost.com.au click on conatct us and nsw, give them your tracking no and date left uk and destination address. they'll get back to you (usually within 48hrs) and let you know if delivered and name of person signed for.
good luck

Well, I just rang the docs office and was told that according to their records, the meds reports had been signed for in Sydney over a week ago.
This would ordinarily make me feel a degree of relief but... our letter asking us to go for the medicals asked that the results be sent to Adelaide
Should I be getting worried or is it likely that everything will find it's natural place?

I think all medicals have to go to the LCU in Sydney initially. I would imagine that your case officer in Adelaide then gets the "results" and then contacts you with either a yay or nay!

If this is indeed the case, it would be helpful if the people at the ASPC updated their standard letters - it would avoid me getting so nervous

Hi Mr Nick
we had our meds done what seems like ages ago now (It'll be 8 weeks this Wednesday) so I e-mailed Adelaide last Thursday night to check if they'd arrived at Sydney LCU and if they'd been passed to Adelaide.
I got an e-mail this morning saying that they've got them & they are attached to my file waiting the case officer's attention... hopefully that means we should hear from them very soon as everything else is sorted.
Just use the automated service - this is the second time I've used it and they respond within a few days.

Where did you have your Meds done? I was under the impession that our Meds were to be set by courier but then told they have been sent by Royal Mail with tracking number. Cost £30 & Dr said couldn't be couriered for less than £70!
I'm surprised they didn't want your Ref No.s, but it seems yours got there with no trouble

I'm amazed how much some surgeries are charging for sending the meds by Royal Mail - ours (5 of us) cost £10 postage for the lot. I would have preferred to pay extra for a courier but they wouldn't let me, but at least I wasn't being charged through the nose.
