Question CO has asked me to renew passport!

So my daughters, and my passport expires in the next six week. CO has everything but told me that he wont finalize the application until i renew them. I don't mind - I will be ringing the passport office to fast track tomorrow.

My question is, how does it affect my police clearance and character reference as this references my current/'old' passport information. Do I have to submit any additional documentation to support my passport change? I would ask my CO but I am concerned at looking like a numpty

Any assistance is appreciated.

I believe I have to complete this - http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/929.pdf

Still unsure on how it will effect my other documents.

Did your CO ask you to redo any other information? Have you become someone else because you renew your passport? Has anything changed since you got your police clearance and character reference?

If you answered "no" to the above then you don't have to do anything but renew your passports. DIAC is not trying to trick you. It's simply a request for a new passport, as yours is expiring.

DIAC usually ask you to renew your passports when they are close to expiring because the visa is electronically tagged to the current passport number. When you get a new passport, the number changes, creating all kinds of headaches, for you and for DIAC.
Your CO is on the ball.

Yes we had to do this before grant. We just e-mailed colour scans of the new passports to our CO and got the grant the next day.
