Hi,

I’m on PR visa 175 and I’m in Aus since June 2010. My company has given me an opportunity to work in NZ(if I like) for about 2 years. But I just want to know, if I move to NZ, will Australian Immigration count those years as I’m out of country when it comes to applying citizenship or no issue will happen ?

Can anybody kindly advise me the situation ?

Your time living in New Zealand would be considered as absence from Australia, unless you meet one of the discretions.

Normally the residential requirement is 4 years residence, at least 1 of which as PR, and no more than 1 year outside Australia during the 4 year period (no more than 90 days of which can be in the year immediately before applying).

Yes of course immigration will count those years as being out of the country ... as you will be out of the country.

A job in NZ came up for me not that long ago, there is no way I would consider working overseas until I have done my 4 years here and got citizenship. I moved just after you, july 2010.
