Dear Friends,
We are planning to have a baby, what status will the new born have?
a) If the birth takes place in Australia ?
b) If the birth takes place in the previous country before we validate the
visa?
regards,

If you are a permanent resident and already in Australia then the child will be an Australian citizen. If your visa has been granted but you have not moved to Australia yet you will need to apply for a child visa. Bear in mind that the baby will need to have a medical so if there are any problems they could potentially fail the medical.

No issues after 9 months, since the baby would have been already born. Check with her doctor/midwife and the airlines how late in the pregnancy she would be able to fly. I know when I was pregnant with my daughter I needed a letter from my OB/GYN saying I was fit to fly at 30 weeks.

BTW is it possible to travel at 8+( before delivery) As all suggest within 5 or after 8+ is not good for long travel

Do I need to inform DIAC about my wife's pregnancy ? We have been granted PR visa and we are making our move in October end, by the time she would have completed 5 months ...

Personally, I don't prefer to take risk of flying my wife in the last trimester, that's why we are making our move early ...

No you don't. So long as the baby is born after you land in Australia you do not need to do anything.
