Chartered engineer and skilled application
I am graduated and "Chartered Engineer", and I work by myself as
independent.
(It's like a lawyer who works on himself...)
If i apply for a skilled Visa, the DIMIA requests that you declare your
actual and previous employers in the last past years.
I work by myself, so and i have not an "employer"....i am the employer of
myself !
And i work for my customers to wich i give the bill when a work is
completed.
I was not able to find out a way for my kind of job.
How can i apply with my job situation without risks to see my application
refused ?
tanx a lot

Hi Keu,
You need to satisfy DIMIA that your work experience is valid - most migration agents have developed strategies over time to deal with that and it's difficult to generalise without knowing much more about your situation - but your first consideration ought to be to do the IELTS test to make sure you're not wasting your time, since IEAust is quite strict on the English requirement.
Also, not sure what you mean by a "lawyer who works on himself" - they do say that a lawyer who represents himself has a fool for a client, but presumably you mean occupations where people are sole traders, as many lawyers are.
Cheers,

Hi George,
maybe I don't know wich are the right words to describe a freelance
professional, (that requires the "chartered" grade and the appropriate
accounting by the tax agency) anyway your description of the lawyer as sole
trader is pretty similar to my work as engineer, as well.
