Changing the main applicant for 175 visa, can it be done???
#1
We WERE in the final stages of our 175 application, final documents had been requested then this stupid thing came out about putting applications on hold. My partner and i are allready here and working in Australia, me as a sparky and my partner as a nurse. The application was been done under me as the main applicant but now trades have been taken off the wanted list our application is on hold.
My question is can we now change the application to my parnters job as a nurse, they are still on the wanted list. It seems an easy option to us as all we would need to send is more references and a write up on work history as they have everything else. Also would there be any cost involved?? Can it be done??

Unless you go on ENS visa which requires a nomination from your employer and you can lodge the application with no extra fees. Take a look at booklet 5
and from Page 4 I quote the following:
If you have a valid visa application for one of the following general skilled migration
categories:
• Skilled – Independent (subclass 175);
• Skilled – Sponsored (subclass 176);
• Skilled – Independent (subclass 885);
• Skilled – Sponsored (subclass 886);
• Skilled – Regional (subclass 887);
and have subsequently been nominated by an employer for an LA, ENS or RSMS visa,
you will be required to complete a new visa application. You will not be required to pay
an application charge for this new application.

You have to lodge another application with your partner as the main applicant and with another visa fee.

Had a reply from our case officer and they have said we can change the main applicant to my partners nursing! They must be feeling sorry for us! Things may be looking up!!
