changing 176 visa back to 175?
Hi ya
I don't know if anyone can answer this question but due to family circumstances I need to delay our visa application.
We just received state sponsorship and the Queensland Government sent the appropriate forms to the DIAC last week. I do not have a case officer yet and have heard nothing from them.
Can I stop the DIAC changing my application to a 176 and therefore being processed as a priority and keep it as a 175 or is it too late now the Queensland Government have sent off the form? Or will my visa application stay as a 175 unless I personally ask them to change it? I am unsure about this bit of the process
Also, if we had to keep it as a 176 state sponsorship visa, once medicals etc are requested is there a time limit in which we have to get them or can we take as long as we need?
Thanks, we are grateful for any insight into this situation!

I am pretty sure there is a time limit for getting medicals done, in which case you could not stall things that way. I am not sure if you can just request it, perhaps somebody else can answer that.
How long did you want to delay for? You don't have to move straight away anyway, although it would be wise not to leave it too late as that would make it harder to get the RRV at the end of five years.
