Default Change of visa 137 - 136

Out of curiosity can anyone answer the following. We're applying 137 to Victoria, we should hopefully lodge it before the 1st of July. We've got 115 points, so had to go STNI.Our first choice was Queensland (having visited there), but we knew there was no chance of getting there, as we were 5 points short. From the info I've gathered, there may be a slight chance of my points going up after the fist of July (extra points for English etc) Basically if I did apply 137 before July and the points went up after, could I swop visas ?
Any suggestions welcome.

Hi Nick,

You can only switch to a visa within the same subclass, so yes you can switch from a STNI to a 136 and vice-versa without having to re-apply.

Now, I am going to ask a really thick question. Can you swop from a 139 to 136 once application is acknowledged? (Sorry but I don't get all this subclass business)
Cheers

Definitely not. You would have to make a new application from scratch.
