change of rules
A query on 457IE please.
Applying around 6 to 12 months from now appears to suit our requirements from info already provided on a previous thread. Thanks guys.
My only concern is that the rules may change between now and then and we won't qualify. Does anybody have any views based on maybe precedents over the past few years as to the chances of major changes to the rules coming into force. Things such as asset requirements etc.
Anybody with an involvement in the visa process over a number of years who are aware of any major changes that have taken place I would be interested to hear from.
Many thanks

Re: change of rules
Anything about future rule changes is just speculation, I'm afraid.

Re: change of rules
Sure Jaj I appreciate that no-one can predict something like this but may main concern is George W's Iraqistan fixation. As and when war breaks out and if it de-stabiliser's everywhere will countries like Australia start closing their borders? And Oz seems a far more attractive place to be than here in such a situation. I am unsure as to whether to apply now and risk not meeting the 4 year and extension requirements just to be able to move at short notice if required.
Probably all for the wrong reasons but we have set our sights on this for so long that it would be heart-breaking to find the door shut just as we apply.
