Hi

I have read of the likelihood of a general election in Aus sometime during
November/December this year.

Is it possible that there will be a change of government? If this does occur, what
effect might it have on Australian immigration policy and those of us still waiting
for a visas?

Cheers GDay

I am more worried abt the current recession and how it will affect the govt's
decision to reduce the number of immigrants...

Well it depends on what type of immigrants, if they are poor than that is bad, just
look at the overwhelming economy strain the millions of illegal immigants in the US
is putting up with. And who has to pay for all that? The legal citizens just trying
to get by. So I think they will continue to allow immigration of course ut only allow
middle or high class in, that would be best for the country. Unless there is a
shortage of low class workers, which i doubt. But concerning the US they definately
need a new less liberal immigration policy along with more military on their borders
to help reduce all the drug trafficking and illegals crossing.

Australia is doing a much better job.

The view of the current Government is not the view shared by All Australians,
