Default CASE WORKER

Hi,

just wondering if anyone out there can help

My husband has applied for a subclass 189 visa, and we lodged visa application over 3 weeks ago and frequently check the DIAC website for any news on a case worker? How long does it take to get a case worker assigned to us?
I have only uploaded/attached some of the certificates requested, are we still waiting because we haven't uploaded all certificates/proof required?

Thanks,

DIAC says CO allocated within 8 weeks - http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/gener...tion-times.htm

I don't think they notify you that CO has been allocated, CO will make contact when they need something from you, tell you to go for medicals, etc

you're right, they won't get in touch until they want something

No - processing takes a long time, so, as medicals and police checks are only valid for one year, you should wait until they are requested.

Hi,

In my case, after lodging the visa application in response to the invitation, document update link contains the details where its coming up as "recommended" to upload Health Exam results & Character Certificates (PCC)....along with other documents like educational certificate etc.

Even, there is a live link to "organise your health exam" !

does this mean...i can go ahead with doing medical exam & obtain police clearance certificates for uploading ? Or shall i wait till CO asks explicitly for these two peices of information ?

Kindly advice.

yes pollyana, thats fair enough....however, i have another query related to it.

in case of police certificates from the counties visited in last 10 years (not the country in which applicant is residing at the moment), would it be OK if PCC for those countries could be submitted now? Since its highly unlikely that applicant would be going back to those countries for the period of one year that may require a fresh PCC.

as per my understanding, some countries have excessively long lead time to obtain PCC, especially if the applicant is applying from outside those countries. So, a still valid PCC for those countries could probably be submitted earlier, where as it makes sense to submit medicals & PCC from current country of residence at a later stage when CO asks.

any thoughts/opinion about this approach ?

Thanks.
