silly question but what does a case officer ACTUALLY do, if snyone knows it might explain why it all takes so long...lol

They read and verify every tiny bit of information you provided on your application. Considering a case officer at ASPC has hundreds of active files at any one time, it's not a wonder they take some time to get through.
