Hi

I m paranoid now.....can anyone clarify my doubt ? I knew it may sound silly but can I travel during weekend or in off day to some big city like Mel or Syd while I m holding SIR 495 ?.....just for travel purpose .

From research, I'm sure you can!!! If you get a job interstate that's another matter and would invalidate your visa. However holidays and occasional travel related to your work are allowed. For example your company send you interstate for a couple days on a training course.

However, if you leave Oz they take the length of time you are out of the country off the qualifying time for the visa. For example if you come back to the Uk for 3 weeks you can not apply for PR until you have lived in your designated area for 2 years and 3 weeks!
