Check this out....
http://www.engc.org.uk/International...on_Accord.aspx
If your course is accredited on the Washington Accord, then you get an easy 60 points.
If I remember rightly, Washington Accord is for Degree level and Sydney Accord is for HNC/HND level.
I have an HNC in Mechanical Engineering, but it is not an accredited course so I had to submit a CDR to IEAUST for assessment ( still waiting for the results ).
If your course is not accredited, contact the Engineering Council UK for an assessment as it still might meet the criteria.
If not, you need to do a CDR to get your points. Go to www.ieaust.org.au and download the overseas assessment kit.
Hope this helps.

Can you still apply through Sydney Accord with a degree then? I thought degrees had to be Washington, HNC/HND for Sydney?
I don't know the in and outs as I only had a HNC anyway. ( which was a lousy half unit short of the requirement for the Sydney Accord - hence the CDaaarrrgghhh ).

If your degree is accredited by the Engineering Council UK for IEng purposes, then you can apply for Sydney Accord. I don't know if they accredit any degrees this way.
I'm very surprised that so many people in the UK study engineering qualifications that are not fully accredited by the Engineering Council. How do the universities and tuititon providers get away with it?
