Default Can an agent please help/contact about this?

I have outlined my problem below. Can an agent please reply here or
alternatively email me if they can help me? I would like to engage an
agent who can help me with this.

I am in Sydney after having completed a 2-year pg degree in IT. I have
an SIR sponsorship from SA in IT (analyst/progrmr) , and I have already
applied for an SIR visa with DIMIA in Sept 2005. However with my skills
and several years' experience in networking, including ongoing
employment here in Australia, I can quite easily get re-assessed with
ACS as a network security professional for the new MODL. I want to know
if any agent can help me with this. Is it possible to ask DIMIA to
change an SIR application to an onshore PR application while the ACS
reassessment for network security is still pending a final decision?
Can I ask DIMIA to hold my SIR application while ACS decides? IS THERE
ANY WAY THROUGH THIS. (Sorry for the caps, but this knotty problem is
driving me nuts). To tell you the truth, I have already spoken with
three different MARA-registered agents, and each one of them has given
me different advice, fueling my confusion. I hope someone can throw a
line to help me salvage my sanity.

I fear you are looking at lodging a new application, Tony ... is there anything else outstanding in relation to your SIR visa application? If not you may find you have been granted an SIR visa fairly soon (based on our experiences of SIR visa processing timelines), which would preclude you being able to apply for a Skilled Independent visa.

Best regards.

Hi Tony,

All you're going to get here are more MARA agents but the nub seems to be that you want to get DIMIA to hold off the SIR decision (since a SIR application can't be converted to a 136 or 137) to see whether a MODL assessment is attainable. All I can suggest is a second ASPC application now, before the SIR visa is granted, and if Victoria is an acceptable destination you could do that more cheaply using a Skill Matching application (since it wouldn't cost you another visa application charge if ACS refused your MODL application). Obviously once the SIR visa is granted you won't be able to apply for a 136, so if you really must live in Sydney then you should probably make the application before the SIR visa is granted.

Call me if I can help - 97990085 - we're in Summer Hill.

Cheers,

George Lombard
