What's the difference between Pre-acknowledgment and Full Acknowledgement & File Ref on the BEupdate site? Do they even apply to online applications?

I applied online and so received my TRN at the end of the application. A day later I received my e-mail with the same details. To my mind the application was fully acknowledged as soon as they took the money and gave me my TRN, or is there another step I'm not aware of?

No diff for the on-liners. For the paper applications first the money was taken, then it was the formally acknowledged, i.e. confirmed to be a "valid application" by checking if you meet the basic criteria of age, English, etc. Then it was put in the queue for the CO allocation. HTH
