Baby after Visa Granted
We have been granted permenant residency status on the 9th September. We are planning to have another baby, but the baby may be born before we plan to activate our visas. Is it easy to get an additional child added on to your visa, and are there any addidtional costs involved? Thanks. Chris

Re: Baby after Visa Granted
Once the visa is granted (validated or not) they won't add any future children to it. If you have the baby here then you'll need to apply for a child migrant visa (cost about £750 + baby medical).
We got our PR granted last Nov, then found we were expecting in Dec. We validated our visas in Mar and applied for our new baby's passport and then visa after she was born. Good news though is the child visa is much quicker and dealt with in London (took about 7 months for our PR, but only 1 week to get the child visa). If however you move out before you have the next baby they won't need a visa as will be born in Oz.

If child arrives before validation then it is a notifiable change of circumstances and if child has medical problems, whole family's visas could be cancelled.
