Average time from 175 online application to medicals request?

Average time from 175 online application to medicals request?

We're planning to move to Australia on a 175 visa, but due to my girlfriends uni course we can't go until October 2010.

As the medicals and police checks are only valid for 12 months, this means we don't want to be doing those until October 2009.

How long on average is it taking at the moment from the initial application to having the meds requested? Once the meds are requested by the case office, how long do you have to submit them?

At the moment I'm guessing that March/April would be the best time to apply (6 months before the earliest time we could do the meds) but any advice appreciated!

We were told by agent that CO would be probably allocated 5-6 months after lodgement, going on this we are booking our meds for Feb 09..
We lodged 175 MODL in Aug 08..
