Question Australian Sponsored 138 ACS Skills Assessments

Hi All,

I am an Aussie Resident, I want to sponsor my brother in the Australian Sponsored category. He is an IT professional (ASCO 2231-17) with 2.3 years of experience. According to DIMMIA, since I am sponsoring him, he ONLY needs to have worked in IT for 12 months out of the last 18 months. But ACS says that for a positive assessment, in IT one needs to have 4 years of relevant experience.

Isn't this contradictory to what DIMMIA requirements are for a sponsored applicant. If one has 4 years and below age of 30 why will he require a sponsoship.

Can any one guide.

thanks,

Samir

Samir

We have just submitted our paperwork to the ACS and we used Peter Chiam of www.ptlabs.com.au He specialises in ACS/RPL IT submissions and I think you should ask him about this.

If anyone can answer your question in a clear and concise manner it is Peter.

We engaged him earlier this year and it was the best thing we could have done.

He is a member on here so you could look for his details in the Members List under Ptlabs and send him a message that way.

Good luck

Trish

Hi Samir,

Yes I'm sure Peter can help, but it does sound as though you ought to be considering using a Vetassess assessment rather than an ACS assessment, particularly if your brother is degree qualified.

Cheers,
