Re: Australian Driving Licences Query!!!!
You would have to exchange your WA licence within 3 months of becoming
resident in another state. However you should not be required to
re-do the practical test, even if your new state still insists on that
for UK migrants (some states have still not implemented the
recognition program the way they ought to have done by now).

This is not intended to be legal advice in any jurisdiction

Re: Australian Driving Licences Query!!!!
Exchanging an interstate driving licence within the 3 mth limit is
very straightforward. Why anyone would want to be the 'guinea pig'
for something like this is beyond me - if you move states, just change
your licence

It would be valid normally for three months if you moved interstate.

so if i were to overstay the 3mths in another state,
am i right in thinking that i would have to take the new states driving exam, be it theory, practical or both or would ithere just be an admin charge to change the WA licence across to the new state where i am residing?
i hope you get what im trying to ask

You would have to take the new states written exam at least. Road rules do
vary a bit from state to state. The alternative is to not get picked up.
