Default Australian Computer Society RPL Years deducted

Does anyone have any experience with how many years the ACS deducts for RPL based applications? I.e: the Skils Level Requirement Met Date.

8 years for those with no quals, or 6 years if you have a non-ICT diploma or higher.

Ok, so assuming just over 8 years work & no qualifications, you'll have 0 years skills but would presumably obtain the skills assessment? I'm tempted to sit the MSCE course which would then give me 2 years experience.

8 years and no quals would still get you the skills assessment via an RPL.

However, ACS only award points for skilled employment after both employment AND qualification requirements are met.

So even with a diploma or degree level qualification awarded in 2017, employment points will only be awarded from the date of the qualification, as that is when both employment and qualification requirements were met.

Richard

not really, as the ACS requirement is a mix of qualifications and experience, and when a qualification is achieved after the experience, the date of issue of the qualification is the date you are deemed to have met the skills requirement.

Have a good read of all the literature ACS make available on their website to get a good understanding of your position.

So, I still have a good standing to get a successful ACS Skills Assessment.

Providing you can meet the RPL requirements yes, but you won't get work experience, so you'll need to factor that into your points tally.
