Default Attestations

Greetings All,

I have applied to ASPC-DIMIA under Skills Independent. My application
was received on 24 Oct 2002, credit card charged on Nov 25 and the
acknowlegement letter is also signed Nov 25 and on 29Nov 2002 I
received it with the reference no. They have asked for the IELTS
results to be send directly to them via the testing centre.

Another demand is for the verification of documents which states

'based on the evidence that a 'relevant assesing authority' has
assessed their skills'.

Other than that it doesn't state which specific degree, diploma or
certificates needs to be attested.

My ACS assesment states "The applicant has a Bachelor of Science in
Computer Science, a Master of Science and an MCSE which have been
assessed as comparable to an Australian AQF Advanced diploma in
computing"

Now my questions are

1. Do I need to get all of the above attested (my bachelor and masters
were from different schools)?. Or just the master's will do.

2. Do I need to get the MCSE cert attested too. If yes, by whom? As
this is issued by Microsoft not a university.

3. Do I need to get those certificates which I obtained before my
bachelor and masters attested too, like secondary school certs etc.

I have been given 49 days to do so. What if the documents don't reach
DIMIA in time?. As I am in another country now , I'll have to
correspond with my universities with mail, telephone etc. which might
take longer.

Any advice, suggestions, experiences & comments will be much
appreciated esp. by the experts like Jeremy, George Lombard, etc.

Thanks In Advance
Sohail

1. They normally expect to see copies of what you submitted to ACS.

2. They normally want certified copies of your degrees, diplomas etc.

3. If you have qualifications from countries like India (or anywhere
where fake degrees are common) then you will need the university to
verify results directly with DIMIA.

4. You cannot ingore requests from Adelaide, unless you want your
application to be refused. If you cannot get a reply back to them
within 49 days you must get in touch with them and ask for an
extension.

That's as much as anyone can tell you here. You must read the
instructions from Adelaide and follow them to the letter. If you
need more specific assistance, you should have already hired an agent.

Hi Sohail

I think what your asking is what does this mean

'based on the evidence that a 'relevant assesing authority' has
assessed their skills'.

Well it means you need to send ALL the documents you sent to ASPC-DIMIA / ACS for your assessment, to DIMA. It doesn't matter which specific cert, as long as it was the ones you sent to ACS.

If your unsure, get a migration agent or Send in all documents attested. This way your not going to restrict yourself.

Hi Kieron & Jeremy

Many thanks for your advice. I am a Pakistani and my schooling was
from Philippines.

I had sent all documents certified by notary public to ACS & DIMIA.
ACS even came back to me to inquire about my MCSE membership no.,
after which they issued me the assesment.

Another question still remains and i.e. do I need to get my MCSE
certificate verified too?. And should I approach Microsoft directly?.

TIA
Sohail
