Attention International Students
The new SOL-Skilled Occupation List is going to be published in May according to DIAC website. Assuming that you held an eligible student visa as at 8 February 2010, you are affected by the recent GSM changes. The consequences are as follows:
It is time to make a decision:
- You cannot claim points for MODL as it has been abolished.
- You can apply for a Skilled—Graduate (subclass 485) visa based on the old SOL prior to 31 December 2012.
- You must nominate an occupation that is on the new SOL if you want to apply for a permanent GSM visa.
It is time to make a decision:
- Extend your student visa?
- Apply for temporary skilled-graduate visa?
- Apply for a permanent GSM visa?
- Apply for subclass 457 or Employer Nomination or Regional Sponsored visa?Other visa options such as partner visa?
- Return to your home country?

Are you saying that you know for definite what's on the new list? If you could you post the link to show the details. Otherwise I'm not sure what your post is saying. I could be having a blond moment though.
