Attending school on bridging visa 802

Attending school on bridging visa while awaiting 802 visa.
Hi,
Can anyone help me please. Myself and my husband are permanent residents of Australia, returning to Perth WA from the UK on resident return visas (granted via an agent) in a few months time.
We have a 7 year old son and this will be his first time in Australia. Our agent has advised he travels on a visitor visa then we apply for an 802 bridging visa as soon as he enters.
My question is, is he eligible to attend school with this visa status?
We do not have a Perth address yet, we have no idea which suburb we will secure a rental therefore no idea which catchment areas for public schools. We have contacted private schools and there are no spaces, no response from any public schools we have tried but it is the holidays.
I know there is also the question of paying international fees. I have contacted the education department but they just directed me towards their website and I could not find the answer.
Has anyone been in a similar position? Is my son eligible for a public school and does he need to pay international fees?

The bridging visa will almost always have the same conditions as the original visa - the tourist visa.
Public schools may accept the child for a short time, but I'd be prepared to pay international fees. I believe there may also be a limit of 3 months schooling, but you'd really need to speak to the school.
Bit puzzled as to why the agent didn't recommend getting a 101 Offshore Child Visa, so the child had PR on arrival, but I guess they had their reasons.

Firstly, the 802 is not a Bridging Visa. The 802 is the substantive Child Visa, for which you would need to apply before the tourist visa runs out. The Immigration Dept will then issue a Bridging Visa A, once the tourist visa expires, and the child remains on that bridging visa until a decision is made on the 802.
The bridging visa will almost always have the same conditions as the original visa - the tourist visa.
Public schools may accept the child for a short time, but I'd be prepared to pay international fees. I believe there may also be a limit of 3 months schooling, but you'd really need to speak to the school.

The 101 visa has a long processing time and we need to be onshore for my husbands job starting.
