Applying for permanent residency
Hi guys im a new member of this group and it seems to be an amazingly helpful group to me. I am a student in Australia and intending to apply for permanent reaidency soon IA.
My question is can i apply for state nomination subclass 190 expression of interest and independent skilled visa 189 expression of interest together? Or is there a restriction that i can omly apply for the EOI of either of the above at a time?
Help please

You can apply for either or both, but I would just whittle it down to which you are eligible for. If you are eligible for a 189, then I would just apply for that.
Are you sure you can pass the skills assessment - most occupations require an element of several years experience and this usually has to be post qualification

Hi thanku @verystormy for your reply.
I have a 3 years experience in Accounting field after my bachelors degree. Plus i have the same amount of experience in recruitment consultancy full time for both as i was working for multiple projcts at a time. Is that ok?

Accountants though are subject to pro-rata arrangements, and for the last invitation round, no invitations were issued below 70 points.

70 pointers are taking around 12 months to be assessed at the moment.

For 189 independent visa I need atleast 75 points to get invited quicker than people with 70 points, which to be honest seems a little tough. But I dont have alot of information about state nominated visa 190. How does it work ?Thats the reason why I'm looking into applying for state nomination 190 as i guess they might be a bit more easy on points?
please give your opinion and suggestion thanks.

You would need a valid skills assessment to apply. Accountants are assessed by CPA, CA or ICA and recruitment consultants are assessed by Vetassess. I did a quick check on recruitment consultant, and there is a requirement for 1 years experience post qualification, and is obviously CSOL only so requires sponsorship.

What do you reckon; is state nomination 190 visa quicker than independent 189 or not?Pls shed some light on this if you could. Thanks

Hey. It's a free Internet forum. If you want personalised information with nobody else posting then perhaps you could hire an agent where you're going to get individual attention.

Just make sure it's a MARA registered agent, to quote an oft repeated mantra here (and for good reason too)

BE is known for being welcoming to new posters (of whom you are one.....) - a bit more tolerance would go a long way!
