I used him to certify all my copies of documents and also character ref.... bless him he just did it for the free holiday when we get in.
I do realise that mistakenly some people spend a great amount on getting docs certified by solicitor/noteries...

great post, should be renamed "101 reasons to use a immigration specialist", the poster needs to go back and work out excactly what he has applied for, this is crucial stuff and not "oh ive got a small question about this", it amazes me that people go it alone without specialist help when they dont do enough research, i spent 100 hours trying to find stuff out and even then paniked all the time. anyway i just fancied a rant.

just read the post again, how can you reassess yourself, do you not need certain experiance and time in job ect. surely this will lead to problems with diac.

In terms of DIAC assessment, specific work experience is based on employment in the nominated occupation or (critically) a closely related occupation. As the actuarial and mathematical occupations are related there may not be an issue.

Easy. I faxed a form to VETASSESS and they did it within two weeks.
>surely this will lead to problems with diac.
As slackbloke has already mentioned actuary and mathematician are closely related occupations + I have experience working as an actuary and mathematician so I don't think it will lead to any problems with diac.
The only question I have is whether when I apply for 176 visa I have to resubmit all the documents that I have submitted when applying for 175
visa.
I've done my research but I couldn't find the answer.

I am sorry but I reckon this is rude and absolutely unhelpful. Why would you even bother to answer like that?

if i was being rude you would of had a picture of me naked, i was merely pointing out that a lot of people seem to go it alone with difficult cases that warrant the use of a expert, i went alone and mine was a simple case, im not knocking you personally but i get frustrated with people looking for answers that possibly need to be answered by a expert, on here most people are not experts but just giving good advice based on experiance,

And what good advice on this matter have you given John?

Respect the others and people will respect you.
And don't assume you are better than others; we are all in the same boat here.
Bye.

As far as your situation goes I think that you should be fine as long as you explain your situation to DIAC via PLE. And then hope for the best. Since both the occupations are closely related your case may be considered on a priority basis. Still if you think things are not working out your way then you may approach an agent for professional advice.

I agree with you. If you scroll back through this thread you will realize that some of the members were chit chatting about stuff that is totally off-topic if they dont have better answers atleast they can keep off-topic discussions to a bare minimum. I wonder why have moderators not taken over and controlled the situation.

I think I'd better resubmit my application for a 176 visa. The downside is AUD2000 but I'd rather spend that now and get my visa in 3-4 months than drag the process for months and months if diac is not happy.
The issue I am having now is whether I should resend all the docs (IELTS, police certificate, job offer) again or they can access them from my 175 visa folder.
This is the only question I have
