I just received our Grant Letter for a 175 visa.
Below are our Timelines:
Positive ACS Skills Assessment: October 21, 2008
IELTS Exam: Nov 8, 2008
Lodged Online Application: December 2, 2008
Case Officer Assigned: May 8, 2009, Request for PCC and Medicals
Medicals: May 19, 2009
Medicals to HOC Sydney: June 1, 2009
Medicals Finalized: Jun 11, 2009
Visa Grant: July 8, 2009

Thanks Mayur. One thing to note. My Document Checklist still shows "Required" in all Documents. Medicals show Finalized.

You can surely do it.
If your case is pretty straight forward-it is not difficult doing it alone. Follow the guidlines on IMMI's website and check/recheck what you plan to send. Also, make full use of BExpats. Amazing inputs by people providing genuine advise.

You have an option here-maybe not the best but this is what I would do.
Instead of having IMMI reject your visa, withdraw it. Depends when you applied for it. If recently you have not lost time.
Apply for a new Visa once you receive a positive skills assessment form the assessing body.
People have done this route with respect to IELTS results. A few applied thinking they should have booked the appointment before the appilcation Lodge date.

Thanks for that.. here come my questions... how do we go about receiving a possitive skills assessment? i have looked on the IMMI site but it doesnt tell u what to do with the information(?) Who is/are the assessing body.. and how do we contact them? and what does IELTS stand for?

Hi,sorry i know im a pain in the butt. Yes i did but im about to re-read it.. we were only at the initial stages with the Agent and to be honest after much though and deliberation we are going to try and do it on our own, think he was just trying to tell us what we wanted to hear/sales patter.. x
