Any successful re-assessment granted for 2231-79

Re: Any successful re-assessment granted for 2231-79
My dear friend from Sri-Lanka,
I sure hope 263199 comes up on any states' SMP list. But if you ask me - unlikely...
Good news is - ACS Is assessing almost everbody postive for whatever ANZSCO code they choose. I am also preparing my 261111 essay. The most difficult part is getting references from 20 odd clients ** again ** !!. (I am self employed).
So dear friend, if you think you have enough points to apply for 175 visa, I sincerely suggest you go for a new assessment and apply for same. Hurry up, don't wait.
Cheers,
TAA

I got positive assessment letter from ACS today(261311-Analyst Programmer). The re-assessment letter was sent by ordinary post. It took 8 days for me to receive it.
All the best for all waiting souls..

JJE,
Yes, I have a very strong reason to believe that 263199 won't be on any smps.
You see, 263199 is the equivalent of 2231-79 (with or without specialization). If that once precious skill was of any use in Oz, then it would have been present in the main SOL - i.e. Schedule3.
So I feel that either Oz has too many IT network security, .net, Java, etc. people already or they want to undo what they did by MODL and awarding 15 points and priority to those who never worked in their profession. I mean by all those hairdressers and cooks. IT got busted because of them. So the people in Oz want to start from a clean slate. I don't mean to sound pessimistic but I fear this is how its gonna be. Mind you, I belong to 263199 too!.
Our best best would be - get ourselves reassessed if we can in any of the schedule 3 categories.
Please understand this is just my opinion, I may be totally wrong as I am no expert. Speaking of experts, this is one question even the experts wont be able to answer with any certainty !
Meanwhile, relax and wait for SMPs. Let them bowl first, our batting will come soon.
Cheers,

Re: Any successful re-assessment granted for 2231-79
hi,well i have applied for reassesment and this july i got 2231-79(oracle spec),previously i was assesed as software eng(2231-15),want to know tht shld i ask acs to map new asco code to ANZSCO,or my ASCO code is fine, bit confuse.....another thing if i have to ask then how do u ask ACS,do u mail or whts the procedure
I am confused... You have already launched your application with DIAC, do you want to launch another one ?!!. And is you previous ACS assessment still valid ?. I think if you were to launch a new application, Software Engineer has a better chance as It is the new SOL (Schedule 3).
Are you doing you case yourself or do you have a help of an agent?.
Regarding ACS, just email them.

How ever all I want is an ANZSCO, maybe I'm so stupid to reassessed into the least wanted 261399 as everybody guess! but I don't have a choice at the moment rather than praying for SMP! I'm not going for 175 as a rule of thumb because god knows what the hell will happen during the 12 months processing time. They might revise the point test etc etc. So I Pray And Ask For The ANZSCO Code 261399 To Appear In All The SMPs & Their Lists! That's Plan A. Plan B Comes After that...lets see... Tomorrow is the Election Day!!! Good Luck Ms Gillard & Mr Abbort!

Re: Any successful re-assessment granted for 2231-79
Since my ASCO code - 2231-79 (Oracle specialist) doesn't exist on DIAC's new SOL, I want to get my case reassessed (paid) for equivalent ANZSCO code. I have a bit confusion please clarify me that confusion.
I am with 9 years of experience in an "occupation" classified by ANZSCO as “Developer programmer" (code 261312). I read the "tasks" and skill levels for this unit group and believe myself that this is one which I am.
In these last 9 years, I have served my employers by performing tasks and assignments that match beautifully with the ANZSCO description of the above occupation/ skill unit group. But my current employer has bestowed upon me dual responsibilities (Database Administrator & Developer Programmer) across my current employment for last 2 years under the assigned title “Database Administrator”.
For example, my job-title/designation is "Database Administrator” but being an experienced member of Technical Staff the job profile and responsibilities assigned by employer to me are matching with those of a “Developer Programmer” apart from “Database Administrator”.
While filling ACS online assessment to select the current occupation pertinent to my current employment designation that I enter ... and while I will select "Database Administrator" my employment “Designations Title” unsuitable for ANZSCO code 261312 “Developer Programmer” but my additional responsibilities are suitable altogether for ANZSCO code 261312 “Developer Programmer”.
Now, the main question is ... can I claim for the ANZSCO code 261312 Developer Programmer which is a bit close to my current employment title “Database Administrator” but more closest to my responsibilities which I have been performing here for last two years as a Developer Programmer will ACS accept this ?

Re: Any successful re-assessment granted for 2231-79
My status changed to 'Case finalised' today, but no registered post no. I guess result is being sent via normal post. How long til I receive do you reckon...I live in the UK.
Another thing, I asked to be re-assessed as Developer Programmer 261312 as it's on both Schedule 3 and 4. And it just happend to be the closest match (in my opinion) to my skills and experience. I don't see many people applying for this code...not sure why?
Cheers

Re: Any successful re-assessment granted for 2231-79
Thanks shafqat but confusion here is that in my previous assesment i enlightened more my responsibilities towards DBA but a little bit developer programmer, though i am equally responsible for both.
Dont you think it would be like a speculation that in my previous assesment for ASCO code 2231-79 (Oracle Specialist) i mentioned responsibilities for DBA as well a little bit development , now this time sudden i come to prominent as a developer programmer.
