Any help please
Hi everyone
My name is Maggie and I desperately want to live in Australia.
I am 54 and my only child (son 34) is now living here.
I am staying with my son in Brisbane and no longer have any reason to return to England. Is there any way, any visa that I can apply for that means that I can stay in Australia and not have to return, I am currently on an Electronic Travel Authority which gives me 3 months to get sorted.
Please help!

You should look at the Contributory Parent Visa. Download and read booklet 3.

There are specific requirements your son must meet in order to sponsor you and supply an assurance of support.
As you are not 'aged' you will need to make an offshore application. It's likely you will find it difficult to remain in Australia while it's processed, but you should really talk to an experienced agent or immigration lawyer to see what options may exist.

Read the booklet and seek professional assistance if still confused.
