Post Any family sponsored on the board - How was it?

Just a quicky to enquire if there are any family sponsored migrants on the forum and how did they find the process on making an application.

1 - From there sponsors side of things

2 - How they managed the paperwork on their side.

Are you meaning in terms of a 176 (family sponsored) visa? In which case we have gone that route, and it was very straightforward. We didn't use an agent - I did all the research and preparation, and the only thing my sponsor had to do was scan their documentation (birth, marriage and citizenship certificates) and fill their form in.

Just wondering about timescales, how long did it take from initial application to acceptance.

DIAC state 12 months, 15 for high risk counties. Anything more finegrained than that is a gamble - each case is different.
