Pre July 2004 applications are being processed on a completely different system in a seperate building/department to the post July 2004 apps. from what I have been told. What I can't understand is why? I would have thought that the logical thing to do when introducing a new system would be to start processing existing apps. with the new one and scrap the old one. The unfairness of this set up is so frustrating. I am sure that this will have caused them so much grief because they will have been swamped with people asking for progress and answers. Initially, when I heard that the new system was being introduced, I emailed them (politely) asking if this would mean that my application would come back sooner than the 50 weeks they quoted. They didn't even answer! I took that as a NO!

I can understand the frustation... These systems should be more transparent and logical...atleast it gives people a sense of timing...
Anyway, lets hope for the best and you guys get it quickly... Badri got his and now you all should be next.

There must be a fair few of us on this list who are either approaching or over the 50 week mark by now. Has anyone thought of contacting DIMA for an update.
We will soon be at the 1 year mark and are now considering an email to DIMA.

Yes we always us that one too very frustrating isnt it?
we also add to any statement "if we get to Australia" or "if we dont get our visa then we will do"!!!

Just found out that Adelaide received my app. on 21st May - not 24th! I don't suppose this will make any difference but I feel ever so slightly closer - since I have now waited 11 months and 15 days! Anyone else got any news or idle chit chat to share?

good news yinwong....theres hope for the rest of us yet. caz we are nearly at the 11 month stage and need to hear something soon just to get me off this computer! saw a news item on bbc breakfast today which drove me mad, banging on about the skills shortage in aus and how easy it is to get in now......NOT IF YOU'RE A PRE-JULYER!. by the time we get there we'll be ready for retirement at this rate ( and i'm only 31!)

What are Adelaide up to ? They must be swamped. I would just like to offer them some advice: JUST SAY YES TO ALL US PRE-JULY FOLK - The fact that we are all still so committed after so long shows strength of character a resilience.
I'm becoming an alcoholic (Aussie wine of course) and fear I may fail a medical from liver damage if they don't hurry up. I would like to propose a respectful toast to all Case Officers and wish them ease of work and fast processing - CHEERS TO ALL THE COs
(Hoping that one of you will adopt my case soon!)GOOD LUCK TO ALL YOU PATIENT PRE JULYERS - Try to stay sane!
